A prestigious achievement has once again been attained by the International Relations (IR) Study Program of Udayana University. Gusti Ayu Putu Indira Maha Rani, an IR student from the class of 2022, was officially crowned Jegeg Udayana 2023 at the grand finale held on Sunday, October 8, 2023.

Indira’s victory serves as a powerful testament that students can excel not only in academics but also in balancing their potential within non-academic fields. As a prominent university-level pageant, Jegeg Bagus Udayana adheres to the 3B principles (Brain, Beauty, Behaviour), where intellectual depth and exemplary conduct are prioritized alongside physical grace.

The Journey to the Crown

Indira’s success is the result of a long, dedicated journey through various stages of selection:

1. Jegeg IR 2023: Indira began her path by winning the title at the departmental level.

2. Jegeg FISIP 2023: Representing her department, she competed at the faculty level last July and was successfully crowned Jegeg FISIP 2023.

3. Jegeg Udayana 2023: Her journey reached its peak when she represented the faculty at the university level, ultimately winning the title against top finalists from various faculties across Udayana University.

Impressions and Motivation

Reflecting on her win, Indira described it as an unforgettable life experience. "The struggle you’re in today is developing the strength you need tomorrow," she stated, quoting Robert Tew. While she never initially imagined entering the world of pageantry, she expressed deep gratitude to everyone who supported her from the very beginning.

The International Relations Study Program congratulates Indira on being crowned Jegeg Udayana 2023. May this title bring positive impact and continue to inspire other students to fearlessly explore their potential beyond their comfort zones.
