Summer Course 2025 Opens: FISIP Udayana University Invites Cardiff University Students to Immerse in Bali’s Rich Heritage.
DENPASAR – The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Udayana University has once again demonstrated its international presence by officially launching its Summer Course program on Monday, August 4, 2025. During the opening ceremony, FISIP warmly welcomed six students from Cardiff University, United Kingdom, who will participate in a series of academic and cultural activities in Bali. This strategic program is the result of a successful collaboration between FISIP, Lumen Media, and Upskill—an institution committed to global education skills development and strengthening cross-cultural learning experiences.
This year’s event marks a milestone for the faculty, recording the highest number of international participants since the program's inception. The presence of these British students serves as clear evidence of the growing global recognition of the educational quality and cultural appeal offered by Udayana University, particularly within the fields of social and political sciences rooted in local wisdom.
Over the next four weeks, participants will undergo a rigorous schedule featuring a comprehensive range of culture-based activities. They will be invited to delve into Balinese traditions through hands-on workshops in creating gebogan and canang, as well as studying ancient literary heritage through specialized sessions on Balinese script and lontar (palm-leaf) manuscripts. Beyond arts and literature, the students will explore the Bali Museum and engage directly with local traders in traditional markets as a form of socio-cultural field observation.
Complementing these practical experiences, the program also includes intensive classroom sessions led by expert faculty members from FISIP Udayana University. Through these academic discussions, the Cardiff University students are expected to analyze social and political phenomena from both local and global perspectives. The Summer Course 2025 is envisioned not only as a medium for knowledge transfer but also as a bridge for educational diplomacy that will strengthen the relationship between the two universities in the future.
