UNUD-UI Collaboration in the International Seminar on the Strategic Benefits of the G20 Presidency

The International Relations Study Program of Udayana University organized a seminar titled “The Strategic Benefits of Indonesia’s G20 Presidency for Its Political Economy Goals in the Global Arena.” The event was held at the FISIP Sudirman Campus Hall and featured distinguished academic speakers.

The seminar invited Asra Virgianita and Ni Nyoman Clara Listya Dewi as speakers. In their presentations, both speakers highlighted Indonesia’s significant role in the global political-economic landscape, particularly during its presidency of the Group of Twenty.

As the host of the G20 forum, Indonesia plays not only a facilitative role in global discussions but also has the opportunity to enhance its national image as a stable, secure, and investment-friendly country. The presidency serves as a strategic moment for Indonesia to strengthen its position in global governance.

The seminar also discussed key G20 agendas, including Global Health Architecture, Digital and Economic Transformation, and Energy Transition. Regarding global health issues, one of the main priorities is the equitable distribution of vaccines and strengthening international cooperation in vaccine procurement. In this regard, Indonesia has contributed through active diplomacy to promote global solidarity.

Furthermore, digital transformation and energy transition were identified as critical challenges for Indonesia. The optimization of digital technology and the development of reliable and sustainable energy systems are essential steps toward achieving inclusive development and contributing to global progress. The event also featured an interactive Q&A session moderated by Putu Ratih Kumala Dewi, with active participation from students.

The seminar, which lasted approximately four hours, concluded with a summary of the discussions presented by the speakers. This activity is expected to enhance students’ understanding of Indonesia’s strategic role in international forums and the dynamics of the global political economy.
