Ms. Amanda McLoughlin OBE Visits FISIP Udayana, Discusses UK-Indonesia Cooperation
Denpasar, March 17, 2025 –
Udayana University welcomed Ms. Amanda McLoughlin OBE, the Minister-Counsellor for Development to Indonesia, ASEAN, and Timor-Leste from the UK's Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). This visit was conducted to establish cooperation and collaboration between the FCDO and Udayana University.
The visit featured two main agendas. The first agenda began with a warm discussion with the Rector of Udayana University, along with the leadership ranks of Udayana University and the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP). This discussion explored opportunities for cooperation in education, research, and international development issues between the UK and Indonesia. The meeting took place in the Dean's Office of FISIP, Udayana University.
The second agenda was a public lecture delivered to International Relations students, themed "UK-Indonesia Development Cooperation." The event was held in the 4th Floor Auditorium of FISIP, Udayana University. In her lecture, she discussed development cooperation between the UK and Indonesia, as well as the crucial role of the younger generation in addressing global challenges. The session was lively and interactive, highlighting the significance of the topic.
This visit reaffirms the commitment of both countries to strengthening bilateral relations, particularly through collaboration between the FCDO and academia. Ms. Amanda McLoughlin specifically expressed her hope that these activities would continue and be held again in the future, featuring other speakers from the FCDO.
This successful collaboration is expected not only to strengthen the bond between Udayana University and the UK FCDO but also to inspire students to actively engage in global issues.
